    Gaining size training

Just a quick question, wanting to gain muscle is it best to do 3 sets of exercises and going as heavy as possible with reps of 10,8,6? and should i be using heavy lifting exercises like deadlifts, close grip bench etc?

    Thanks

Yes to the first one, always remember form is important.

I like to build my routines around my main compound lifts, deadlifts, squats and bench pressing....

    12 sets is good

Like matt said stick to the big lifts like squat, deadlift, bench, etc. Keep the weight heavy but keep the form correct.

I think 12 sets is good for chest, back, delts!

For legs I'd go for like 20-22 sets(12 for quads and 8-10 for hams)!

    I personally do 9 for Bi's and 10 for Tri's!

i was doing basically the same exact set ranges as you... then i got certified learned that i was overtraining, changed the split up/reps and set ranges literally dropped in half and got about 30lbs on bench in one month, every other exercise progressively went up every single workout...LESS IS MORE...
