    Cardio Vs Weightlifting

hey im wondering which is better for weight loss, when i think about it i must say that weight lifting is more effective, it burns calories, raises your matabolism and you need to repair muscles and replenish glucose and glycogen ,,iv talked to professional trainers who have 30+ years in the industry who swear by weight lifting as a form of weight loss and say that cardio is a gimmick to get people into the gym

id say do what works for you bro. every person on the planet is different, with different hormones, different rates of metabolism, differeent ages, etc etc etc. what works for 100 guys maybe wont do shit for you, and vice versa. I know personnel trainers who swear by running prior to lifting, and others who will only run once a week. You just gotta find the right combo for you and your body type.

    Good luck Bro !!

i spent hours searching on the net regarding witch one to do first, cardio or lifting, and got nothing, some say cardio first and some say lifting first. so i decided to do what Super man suggested, do what works for you. The most important thing you need to worry about is the Anabolic and Catabolic state, this is one thing I did recently is learn the science of the body, learn how it works, it will help you make better decisions as to how you can achieve yo0ur goals.

muscle will not waste away with an hour run 3/4 times a week. its also makes your abs more visible, and pumps your legs up too-esp calves.

it does not cause muscle loss...if anything it just reduces the rate of muscle growth to an extent. if your pumping iron at least 3-4 times a week and eating right, running for an hour 3/4 times a week will not affect muscle growth as much as some think, and itl strip fat off you like theres no tomorrow.

You are wrong, once you start running your heart rate is Extremely high and WILL burn muscle and use it as the source of energy..........

please explain. my oversized calves are testament to the fact that running a sensible amount does not waste muscle to the extent most think. the blokes not on about being an ultra distance runner and also wanting to be a arnie look a like-he just wants to burn some fat. and as far as runnings concerned, as long as you train and eat right, and run a sensible amount, your not gonna waste away and turn into haile gabriel selassie, and its the best way to burn fat.

digressing...being fit and being a big mother fcuker are two different things. ild rather pack a decent amount of muscle and be able to run a ten miler no problem, then bench 200kg and be out of breathe after 20 meters. but yeah, i get where your coming from.

the only way running will work is if you are carbed up a shit load otherwise post workout running in glycogen depleted states will cause muscle loss. and why would somebody want to run for an hour 4 times a week if they are cutting weight? therefore the argument you pose is not good advice for anybody looking to properly cut (fat weight, because nobody wants to lose muscle). if your looking to lose muscle while cutting weight follow this protocol.

thats called genetics bud. the blokes not on about being an ultra distance runner and also wanting to be a arnie look a like-he just wants to burn some fat. and as far as runnings concerned, as long as you train and eat right, and run a sensible amount, your not gonna waste away and turn into haile gabriel selassie, and its the best way to burn fat.this is not the best way to effectively burn fat without sacrificing muscle.. there are MUCH better and more effeective methods, please stop advising this.

If you are serious about losing some weight and looking good/feeling good.... I would recommend you to do both. Running will cause you to lose weight much faster and there is hardly an argument to that... but, as they say, if you are shaped like a big pear, then you will just look like a little pear as you shrink. The key is to develop your body through both.

    So good luck!

    x2..

A better alternative method, that works for me personally is AM cardio with some BCAA's or whey first thing. Keeping cardio at low intensity to preserve the breakdown of muscles for energy.
