    another workout split ques...

Reading through most of the posts that apply, it seems everyone has different opinions on routines and splits. I know every person is different but there has to be some base to start from. I've read eatrainrest's link to the workout split which helps a lot but the exercises i get confused on. My question is, why do some say it's better to train one body part a day and some do two a day like in a three day split? Which is better for size without overtraining or undertraining. When I do one part a week like chest, the next time feels like starting over, like I haven't done chest in a month. I'm looking for size, right now I do a lot of compound moves, heavy weight, no less than 8 reps, no max. My routine is bis/tris - chest- back- shoulders/legs. Pretty much on a mass/size cycle goal, my body weight is increasing so I want to make sure I'm on the right track in the gym for the size goal.

Like you said, everyones different so your gonna get a lot of different routines. I believe that one muscle group a day is best for mass. I switch to the three day split when cutting or maintaining. Building mass is all about rest. If you feel like your starting over every week you're prolly not hitting it hard enough the week before. Do you feel like you're starting over in all muscle groups or just in chest?

Try hitting chest on Monday and Thursday and see how that works for you. I did that for about 2 months and saw decent progress.
