    How many weeks

    How many weeks or months you should workout before taking a rest. And how long the rest period should be. Thanks

    im around 8 weeks steady.. 1 week completely off

    23 years in the gym, one week off twice in that time, both after surgeries.

    1 week vacation a year should do the trick, if you have joint problems then just take time off when you feel the need.

    Same here.

    Only time I take off is after surgery or injuries.

    Or if I hit a plateau or feel like Im getting burned out. Then I'll take a week off, then start with something different.
    Plus it keeps me sane...

    No offence but do you not think this might be telling you, you need more rest?
    Having said that I have had 2 one week rests in the last year and a half.

    Well, I've only had 1 surgery and it was gyno related.
    And the only injuries I get are basketball related.

    If my body needs rest, I give it rest.

    It's basketball, you shouldn't be tackling like it's football.

    haha Thats what my friends say. I like to play hard basketball, and there are always a few guys crying about it.

    problem solved, bodybuilders shouldnt be playing basketball! lol

    not very often. have this week off except legs cause i crashed my harley and hurt my shoulder.
