    Swimming!!!

    after 6 weeks with my leg in a cast i've been put in to a removeable aircast and have been told I can start swimming happy days!!!
    However I wanna use the swimming as cardio aswell as rehab. Any one got any suggestions on how long a should swim for and what stroke would be best?
    I'm thinking I should do this on an empty stomach every morning 2 try and shed some love handles

    oh boy.. if your not doing any resistance training and are not eating a shit load of carbs i would not recommend AM swimming, unless its like 60% HR throughout..

    yeah I do 4 weights sessions a week mon, tue. thurs pm and sat am.

    I swam this morning did 10 lengths crawl, my lats and shoulders were so pumped up another length and i would have drowned! So I swam another 10 lengths holding a float out in front of my and just kicking my legs. think hats what I'll do from now on!

    I've been given the OK to start doing hammy curls and leg ext so I'll put them in a the end of every weight session.

    so I should eat a normal breakfast before swimming?
    the lifeguard there mentioned an aqua jogger its a flotation belt you wear that holds you upright so you can jog in the water so I'm going to try and get my hands on one of them

    i dont recommend HIT cardio in the AM, but if your going to do it hell yea id get some carbs in either the night before or slam some quick carbs before

    back when I was prepping for SF Q-course I did laps at a pool.. It will kick your ass faster than you think..
