    Smokers???

Im still trying to kick my smoking addiction. Im down to about 8-10 per day. Does anyone else here smoke? I can really feel it during cardio, but Im getting close to quitting completely. I was smoking 2 packs a day. Work related stress, plus everyone at work seems to smoke. Its hard to stop.

man i smoke only one a day at night and it makes me so lazy and not want to work out, i really hope i can stop but unfortunately i have linked the smoking to a specific stress and i dont see myself stopping until that stress is removed from my life...not likely.

I have gone about 2 weeks without a cigarette. Cardio is actually alot better. Just think about it as every time you light up a cigarette your burning money.

^^ Me too. I smoked for 4 years. I haven't touched a cigarette in over 1 1/2 years. For the exact same reason as above. Never felt better!

Why don't you try the smokeless cigarette. Some lady at my job has been smoking for 20 years she swears by it she said she would never touch a real cig again

I used to smoke about 5 a day, when they hiked the taxes up I refused to pay that kind of money for them.

Zyban is like godsend IMO . You take 1 week while you smoke . Next week you toss smokes and could care less . I believe its a anti depressant and tells your nicotine receptors, all is good man ! No cravings , no withdraws , I was like so now what .

A coworker of mine tried a new strategy; she cut up plastic straws to the same length as a cigarette and when she has a strong urge she'll chew on one. She said it helped her.

i have just recently quit smoking , have been smoking for 13 years and decided i wanted the gains from quiting and i have seen 5 kg of gains in 4 weeks , ive been training so ive turned it into muscle , its hard to do but once you get past that first week of no smokes it becomes easier , and when you do get a craving it only lasts for 5 minutes i promise , just instantly get up and do something when you feel like a smoke...good luck man

I used chantix years ago, quit without a problem. Zyban and chantix are both expensive but well worth the money......

I use to smoke a long time ago. While I wasn't an adult, I smoked from 6th grade up to 19 (Malboro Reds was my choice). At 19 this is when I began to become interested in fitness and grabbed a pair of dumbbells, did weights in my garage and pushups, crunches, etc, bought GNC creatine and whey (ahh the humble beginnings) and would run miles everyday up and down hills around my house.

I knew the best way to be successful was to quit smoking thus allowing more oxygen to my muscle. I utilize the gum but would still smoke here and there. I ran everyday and eventually after getting up to 5-8 miles a day up and down hills I no longer craved or wanted a cigarette or the gum. My body eventually rejected them and I quit cold turkey, haven't looked back since and I despise the damn things now.

Don't know if this is helpful just throwing in my .02cents and what helped me quit

Gratz on the progress so far. I just had to go cold turkey to quit. It sucked but once I was over the 2 day hump it was easy.

I don't smoke, but when I have a beer SOMETIMES i'll have a cig. I never crave one, I just smoke one like a conversational thing. They're not bad when you're out and about having a beer, but who in the hell wants to be constantly breathing in smoke all day.

I'm talking like maybe 3 cigs in a months time. I think marboro light is a good one. Put em down man, they're doing nothing for you AT ALL.

its half mental half physical. you need to get angry and say "im not going to let this beat me" my mom got lung cancer over 2 years ago, the day going into her surgery she smoked her last cig. hasnt smoked a single 1 since, did not use ANY quit smoking gimmics or anything, and i have never heard her bitch about needing a cig. she was a 1 pack a day smoker at 90lbs. she said her body craves one once in a while but its nothing big. with a gun to your head, its all mental.

I quit smoking after smoking for 12 years in January. It was the easiest thing i ever did... what made it so easy was I ACTUALLY TRULY WANTED TO QUIT AND NEVER SMOKE AGAIN... and until you make that determination u can try a million times and it will never work... i also quit because of bodybuilding... and because of i wanted my cardiovascular activity back... and now 7 some odd months later its like I NEVER SMOKED BEFORE IN MY LIFE.. its crazy...

You just have to throw them away and deal with the madness for a couple of days and take that anxiety out in the gym and that should make it a lot easier.

It isn't easy for everyone. It is the toughest thing to actually quit. I myself tried like 20 or so times.. would make it a month or two.. and go right back to it.. but now i can safely say i will never rip down a Marlboro again !!

    Best of Luck man !!

Im smokin one right now. My problem seems to be more of a habit than addicition. I dont smoke inside my home, and when Im in the house, I dont even think about it. Im in my workshop right now, and as soon as I get out here, I instantly grab one.
Ive never let myself run out in a long time because I always buy a carton. Im gonna let these last 2 packs run out, and see if I can make it through the day without buying any.
It kills me during cardio, and I know if I stop, then Ill feel much better. Ill try to keep this up to date for any smokers out there.
Also, Thanks for the comments everyone.

aw defff try hard to quit... smoking is the single mostttttttt detrimental thing u can do to damage every single system of your body!!!! some chic at my work said she was going to try some laser treatment behind her ears to help her quit... supposedly it prevents food cravings that many ppl have when attempting to quit
