    What if i can't sleep?will muscle grow?

HI everyone!Im sorry if im posting in the wrong section couldn't figure where BUT ANYWAYS..
Im gettin probably soon a job which will be an advantage to aford more easily my suplements,meals,etc..but the problem is a night club job where I will have to work lets say from 8pm to 3-4 or even 5am maybe twice a week so this will be a problem with my workout sleep time since I eat 6 meals a day and if i rearange my mealing schedual to sleep at the day and make my meals at a later time the days i wont work i would be messed with the time again.
So Im wondering if its ok if for 2 times a week i lack of sleep(sleeping like 5 hours instead of 8) or will it affect my muscle growth progress and weight gain?
I will arrage my workout days so that the day I workout i dont have to work.

i don't think it will effect you too much as you will still be sleeping just at different times. and as long as you can stay anabolic with your food intake you should be fine.

I am a hardcore insomniac, I am pretty jacked. Not as much as some of the other guys on here such as Reed. I have been as big as 230 and 10% bf sleeping maybe a few hours every couple of days. I am not that big now as I like to play sports and that is a bit to big for me. I dont recommend not getting sleep in but if you schedule is crazy your schedule is crazy.

I average about 5 hours a night and this has been going on for about 2 years now and i'm just fine. I catch up on it a little on sundays with an hour or two nap and that's it. I wish i could get 7-8 hours just once a week. Good luck man.

    Thanks for the compliment MS!!!

How do you feel about napping with the inclusion of 7-9hrs of sleep a day. Read a article in the latest MD that was stating napping can help in growth

No problem man, you work hard and I give credit were credit is due.

I think taking naps is and can be beneficial as long as it doesn't interfere with ones regular sleep patterns. For someone like me that has problems with sleeping at night, napping during the day is a big no no. Because it interferes with natural REM sleep. If one has no problem getting to sleep at night then take a nap if it fits into ones schedule. Probably the best time is right after a workout and in fact since I cant sleep at night no matter what I sometimes will nap after my workout especially on a leg day....LOL

ok being as big as most here is not a problem for me idont wnat to be a bodybuilder i find it kinda ugly to look so muscular and riped (no offece to those who like it) i just want a fit body (175lb is just fine for me) im a very skinny person(130lb 5,9"-6,0"-18 years old),i love sports, love running and i dont want to lose that skill for being way to heavy.
I just want to have a nice summer body :P and to have a body which people to recognicem wont say "ya the skinny guy". that it idon ask for 250lb muscle with 5 %bf or so.

Oh sorry, hope I didnt offend you. I was just pointing out that I am still able to grow some muscle even though I dont sleep much. If you eat right and train consistently there is no reason that you couldnt be 175 and pretty lean.

    Good Luck with your goals.

For me best workouts happen at 8 hours. I can go a day with 6 hours but two in a row and I loose that mental focus that helps me on the last few reps.

I need 8 hours of sleep to function properly...any less, and I can notice my mental abilities getting slower as the day goes on.
