matt if i do legs in middle of the week i struggle to get round the gym the next few day thats why i do it fridays so i have weekend to recover
-
Well if you do arms in the middle of the week how can you be doing your shoulders correctly?? My arms hurt for days..
You could do it like this
Mon= Chest/biceps
Tue= shoulders
Wed= Back/ triceps
Thur= Legs

if you do chest you hit triceps then next day shoulders you can target your triceps too and then arms obviously again is this still ok or overtraining tri's

i will just tell you my arm w/o as the other w/o's are not important.
biceps i always start with db curls i feel this gets my biceps warm and i get a good pump it gets the blood flowing nicely too
2nd id do barbell curls trying to go heavy and make my bi's feel like ive lifted something
3rd is always concentrated to isolate the exercise and really sort of end any energy in that area
lastly id go some rope curls to failure not to heavy just enough to get about 12 to 15 reps out of
i always work at a 4 set my
tris are always cable pulldowns
then a heavy freeweight movement
3rd i isolate
and 4th is usually dips to failure
thanks for spending time to figure my problems out dude

its cool, sounds to me like you do alot of sets. i do around 6 for both triceps and biceps. but its about switching up rep ranges and exercises to allow for more growth. i see that you "always do" some exercise. I'll soon have alot more input on slingshot training once i start but i think its the best routine to follow if done right.

ROFL......
Anyhow... I see a lot of different recommendations... None of what I really like..... But to be honest. Everyone's body is different. And will react differently.
Some say they can't do legs in the beginning of the week. Or do shoulders after bis and tris because they are too sore.... but After so long the soreness doesn't bother me........ And really legs you only use for legs.. So it really doesn't matter when your doing them.... You don't use them any where else....
You need to try and see what best works for you... Take a list of what people have recommended... Do two weeks of each and see how you like it.... If its not for you go to the next....
I have found that:
Monday-Chest
Tues-Back
Wed-Bis & Tris
Thur-Shoulders
Fri-legs
Worked good for me.... After reading some of your guys though I am thinking of making some changes.. When doing back you work bis as well a little... And chest, tris, shoulders. All of them you can be working a little of each as well... IDK...
Start see what you like though. Give it a try.

I run mine like this ( might be an issue with not enough rest but oh well)
7 day split
1-Chest
2-Legs & Abs
3-Arms
4-Chest(this alternates with which area I feel needs most work)
5-Back
6-Shoulders & Abs
7-OFF
30 mins cardio every evening after workout(no cardio on off day)
I change the order if I change which area is getting the extra workout.
*I just started running this routine and so far so good

Does anyone find it ironic that all but one person in this thread does chest on Monday? How did chest become such a priority?? I purposely do back monday and chest tuesday just so I am not on schedule with 99% of everyone else in the gym. Makes it much easier to get the equipment you want without waiting or working in.
-
^^^ This is one reason why i do chest on monday, at my gym 99% of the people there do arms on a Monday. Thats their priority...

that is weird bout chest mondays. i workout at 7am so there is about 15 people in golds at that time. in the past i would start my schedule on sunday on chest so i could get my preferred machines. chest isnt even my favorite. hmmmmm
