    Leg workout critique

Here's is my leg routine. I just wanted opinions and possible improvements.

Smith Squats x4 8-10 (its hard to get a squat rack at my gym and i think i need a few months on the smith machine)

    Leg Press x4 8-15

    Upright Leg curls x4 10-20

    Standing calf raises x4 15-30

    Seated calf raises x4 15-30

    Thanks ahead of time.

Here's a lil' sample leg workout....

2x warmup supersets of leg extensions and leg curls
    1x warmup set of squats
4x working sets of squats/front squats
3x working sets of leg press/hack squats
    2x working sets of lunges
4x working sets of stiff legged deadlifts
4x working sets of calf exercise of your choice

I'm going to go regular squats eventually. I'm scared I'm gonna kill someone. I did a thing called 200 squats in 6 weeks program off the net. I swear I would nearly bust my ass a couple of times every set and that was with no weight lol. I'll kill someone with 250 lbs on my shoulders.

That looks like a good routine. I usually do deadlifts on back day tho.

Stiff legged deadlifts are not the same as deadlifts. You are slightly bending your knees and looking for the pull on the hamstrings. No quads involved. Doing it on a box is good to get a good stretch

Something like you originally had was good 'cept add in an extra hamstring exercise like the stiff deads.

I'd go w/ two exercises for calves and 4 sets. HEAVY just like everything else if you want growth. 6-15 reps, not 15-30 reps

And like Mad Matt suggested free weight squats are great and I personally notice a difference in the growth on my legs b/w smith squats and free weight squats. I go with free weight squats, full depth or at least parallel for development of the legs

Pound the shit out of those legs with your routine. Go beyond failure especially on the leg press. Go till you feel like you can't go anymore but do more reps, even if you gotta put your hands on your knees and do force reps. The more hardcore you are with your legs the more they'll grow as well as your entire body.

    Good luck

Stiff deads are an awesome hammie exercise. Make sure that you have warmed them up very good. Made the mistake of not get them good and loose and ended up with a Grade 2+ tear. It sounded like someone ripping canvas. Doc said that if it would've been slightly worse, surgery would've been needed. Leg was purple from ass to ankle for about 10 days. All better now, but it set my legs back a couple of months.
