losing 20lbs in a month? is this possible?

    Hey,

I did some math and came out to some odd results, and I am wondering if this sounds reasonable.

So I went to a website, that calculates how many calories my body burns on its own without even working out. Based on my size and BMI, it said around 3000. Then I input how much I exercize, and it told me around 1250 cal were burned (jogging for 45 min and lifting for 30).

Granted I intake a 2000 calorie/day diet, this means I burn off 4250-2000=2250 calories per day

Granted it requires 3000 calories to burn 1lb of fat off, and I'm burning 2250 calories per day, this means I could technically burn off around 22lbs in a month if I did the same thing everyday.

22lbs in a month sounds outrageously high.... maybe if I took DNP, ephedra, clen and cytomel I'd lose 22lbs in a month.... but I dont think I could lose 22lbs in a month by doing it naturally with strict diet and exercise.

What do you guys think? Is it really possible to lose 22lbs in a month based on strict diet (2000Cal), a regular but intense exercise (75min/day)?
(I have average, to slightly below average metabolism - I'm proned to gaining weight than losing it. But I've lost weight before and have been able to do it with diet+exercise... just dont remember how long it took me)

Doing that much of a drastic weight loss would certainly burn as much muscle as fat.

    Yes.
You can loose how much weight you want, but will you loose more fat than lean mass?
jg42058p, you should focus on diet and cardio, not on numbers.

I'd think the more stored glycogen you had you'd burn more fat, not muscle. Thats why the leaner you get the harder it is to cut weight. The only time I would think you would be burning muscle is if you had severe glycogen depletion, in which this case protein can be converted to glucose through a process known as glucogenesis.

In keto glycogen is depleted, but you burm more fat than muscle, because you use fat as fuel and glucogenesis happens overall to the ingested amminoacids.
I agrre that the leaner you are the harder you burn fat. I yhink that it happens because the body protects its energy reserves.

Are you cutting weight for a fight, bodybuilding competition, or just to look good (or some other reason I can't think of)? A lot of cutting comes from the water in your skin and body. You wanna preserve the muscles.

Sure it's possible to cut 20lbs in a month. How dehydrated do you wanna be when you get to the end of the month? Are you planning on keeping the weight off, or is this just a one time thing?

You can do it with diet+exercise. The methods depend if you are planning to keep the weight off or not.
