    Weighted Dips

Im currently doing weighted dips for my tri's with the weight hanging off my ass.
Now i havent been making alot of progess on them so heres a couple questions:

    1) I lock out and squeeze at the top of the movement. is it ok to do this or am i better off stopping before lock out?

    2) I have the bar set at shoulder width or slightly wider. thats not too wide for tri's?

Stop right before locking out, it takes some practice but you can do it. Also you wanna go with shoulder width and lastly keep your upper body from leaning foward.

I like the dips shoulder width, keep your body erect, look forward NOT down, don't lock out, no need for it.

x2^ You can hurt your elbows locking out. Also the easiest tip for targeting tri's versus chest is look UP for triceps, DOWN for chest.

Locking out can do some damage on the elbows.... It is in best practice to not lock out...... I don't lock out for anything.....

i know i was thinking the same thing

plus why not lock ur elbows? its fully strains the triceps and achieves a full rep, aslong as ur not wobbling around when ur elbows are locked and ur placing to much presssure on them i dotn c why u cant

i always partially lock my elbows at the top, never had any problems

I start to wobble around sometimes when I'm doing dips. What can I do to avoid this?

When I get wobbly I just add weights. Something to easy makes me wobble a little more than something that is heavier. Like for instance for some reason 135 on bench press feels heavier than 225 for me because of the balance and wobble. Just my opinion but if its already to heavy just try and work on that balance.

    No

I get angry when I see skinny guys doing them without wobbling, I never thought I probably needed to add weight. I should really try that. Still, I should be able to do them BW without wobbling, right?

I don't think it's too heavy. I just lose balance and my lower body starts wobbling like crazy, spinning around in little circles. How would I go about working on that problem?
