Workout idea.
Getting board with current routine so was thinking of something like this.
First two weeks HEAVY lifting 8 / 6 / 4 rep scheme with most of the compound lifts - bench , deads, squats , lunges, m presses , rows etc. I will for the most par try to keep isolated movements to a min here while focusing mainly on heavy compounds.
After the two weeks back the weight down a bit to like a 12 / 10 / 8 scheme and during this week add in more isolates movements with machines and such.
Do this for a week, then switch back to heavy lifting.
What do you guys think ?

IMO! I'd do 3 weeks heavy 3 weeks light.

I would go more like 5/6 weeks heavy then switch it for the week...

Rough idea of my mindset
Week1 8 / 6 / 4
Monday
Pull ups WIDE ( as many as possible w/ bodyweight) 3 sets
Chin ups ( as many as possible w/ bodyweight ) 3 sets
Deadlift
BB row
tuesday
Incline smith press *Use smiths because i workout alone. Put my mind at ease and allows me to push harder.
Flat smith press
Decline DB press
BB curls
Wed off
thur
BB m-presses
BB upright row
BB shrugs
Cable pulldowns
Legs
Lunges
Squats
SLDL
Week 2 8 / 6 / 4
Monday
Pull ups WIDE ( as many as possible w/ bodyweight) 3 sets
Chin ups ( as many as possible w/ bodyweight ) 3 sets
Deadlift
Machine rows
tuesday
Flat smith press
Incline smith press
Decline DB press
BB curls
Wed off
thur
DB presses
BB upright rows
BB shrugs
REV grip cable pulldowns
Legs
Lunges
Machine Hacks
SLDL
Then 3rd week ill would repeat week 1.
After that i would workout with more isolated movements more reps 12 / 10 / 8 ; working more with Machines / DB's / Cables
Ill do this for a week or two then switch back to heavy week.
Any suggestions ?
Still deciding where i want to add an AB set. I use to do them after legs but lately after legs i have such bad heart burn from pushing it effects my AB workout too much.
I def threw BB curls and Tri pulldowns cause i find it hard not to isolate them at least once a week. Bad habit i guess.Last edited by DSM4Life; 08-17-2009 at 07:07 PM.

I have ran similiar routines to this and had very good results with it. I cant remember the exact timing but I think I was going 4 weeks on each program before switching.
