    Upright Row

Hello been training for a while now and so far made good progress. On my shoulder day though I'd like to incorporate the upright row into my workout. However, everytime I try it just seems to make my wrists feel like they're going to snap. Any ideas what I may be doing wrong?? Technique? Or do I just have weak wrists?? They are fairly skinny lol

    thanks x

I've been using a straight bar with heavy weight.
I was having my hands close grip, but was advised to change to shoulder width... both make my wrists feel like they're going to snap.

Try to think about keeping your elbows higher than your hands, there shouldn't be to much of s bend in your wrists. You also might be raising the bar to high. The higher you raise the bar the more it puts emphasis on your traps and less on your shoulders, unless ur doing upright row specifially for your taps then raise it nice and high, otherwise the bar should never go over shoulder level if your trying to work more delts and less traps.

this is my favorite exercise for shoulders and it also hits the biceps, and traps. It is great... I think some are just shaped differently. Cousin has the same problem. I don't feel anything.

Grab straight bar with slightly narrower than shoulder width overhand grip.

suggestion : hit them with the rope on the cables till you can build up what ever is lacking strength/or flexablitly.

    then go straight bar

I just lift till my elbows and shoulder are all in line, so my hands are only mid chest high. I know its not as high as most people pull but it works for me.

Try lifting the bar to your nipple line keeping it as close to your body as possible
