    formula to get calories burned?

    the eliptial doesnt have a weight input so was wondering if there is an equation to find out how many it was based on your weight

    not too sure bro. Id concentrate on your hr opposed to what the machine wants you to tell them. On the elip and treadmills I use, I just hit manual and get my hr where I need it to be and away I go..........

    Agreed. I think that some companies may use the "calorie counter" more as a marketing tool.

    heart rate monitor is the shit. I use it all the time. average workout including cardio is 600 calories. I would assume its the same for most who try hard.

    Any machine that tells you how many calories you burned should not be considered accurate unless...You input your lean body mass (not bodyweight) and your heart rate is measured throughout the session by the machine as well. Without those two there can be no formula.
