    training each bodypart

    when trying to build muscle,
do you think training each bodypart once a week is the best way to train or do you think twice a week is better or you might have a better solution?
    all opinions welcome.

I train once a week. I have tried the twice a week and I am not sure if it is an issue in my head about strength or not, but when working two groups my weight rep range goes way down. For example when I normally do tri's I do skull crushers with X amount of weight and it is fresh and strong. If I mix in chest that X amount goes down quite a bit. Or if I did tris with back I am just too tired to by the time I get to it that I pick lazy exercises and go thru the motions. Just my 2 cents. I have a buddy that does two body parts every time and he is rock solid.

I always had a tough time gaining size while training twice a week. I was strong, and cut, but small. It wasn't untill I started allowing more rest time that I started to grow.

you gotta just try both, some do better one way some do better the other. i started out working everything twice a week since my dad got me into bodybuilding and for about 40 years hes been doing twice a week and swears by it, he also does a ridiculous amount of sets per muscle, but hes always been a monster, so i guess what works for some wont work for others, just like mostly everything when it comes to fitness. ive since been doing bodyparts once a week and i prefer it over twice

i say once a week, and depending one the muscle group i do between 3-9 sets for each muscle, usually the bigger the muscle the more sets

like everyone said above, depends on each individual, generally once a week is the most popular becuase it allows for the best recovery time, most people overtrain if they train a muscle group hard twice a week

sorry off topic but ranging1 you posted some suggestions in my cycle log to lower my sets per bodypart, i took that advice and i started losing strength, ive tried it before too and the same thing happened, i started losing strength.. i dont know, maybe my body just needs those few extra sets? or maybe its so used to it and my strength will go down for a while but then it will be ok again once i adjust? what do you think? you can respond to this in my cycle log if you want, sorry to the OP for hijacking your thread..
