I saw it at one persons house but never asked how it was. I really think it depends on your commitent to anything to get results!

P90x is not for everyone, and depending on your goals has well. If you decide to try it take it one step at a time.

You have 3 types that you can do, the classic, the lean and the double.

Depending on your goals, be sure that this is a total transformation program, you will not gain mass on this but you will shed a lot of fat and weight.

The yoga X dvd is the longest one and I think that everyone who has tried P90X must get bored out of there minds doing it because its way to long 1h30. Yoga is great and amazing but lets face it not for a hour and 30 minutes.

YOu also have the core training done once a week, X strech is also very good when you want to take a break one day.

Cardio X and Kenpo X are very well made cardio DVDs, with yoga, stretching, tae bo and high intensity.

Tony Horton is a very enjoyable trainer, if i can say so, he is not annoying, does some funny jokes and makes P90x really enjoyable.

You only need a couple of dumbells, a chin bar and that's it.

You never really stop in P90X you get some small breaks here and there but other then that its very intense.

You might have trouble at first with all the pullups and push ups, but stick to it and it will be amazing.

Best way for me to describe P90X is that there are a lot of 40 years old people men and women who at the turning point of there lives really want to get back in it, and show they are still capable of doing things with there body.

Tony Horton turned 50 and he looks amazing. The program has a 3 phase diet also and is very well explained.

If you decide to do it keep us posted on your progress, for me with some remaining back pain i had to stop the program.

I actually am doing the program now. I had finised the first two phases in July but I had a death in the family and well everything went to sh** after that.

I am starting the program back up now only this time I'm running 600mg test cyp and using a bulking diet.

Your right on with the yoga program, I usually sub it with core or cardio.

I was curious if there was anyone else who has used the program for bulking? Or should I change it up a little?

I have it, and have tried most of the work outs. My opinion is that it would be great for cutting, not so much bulking. I plan on doing the full 90 days this sping to get cut up for summer. The reason I don't think it would be good for bulking is that all of the workouts are fairly cardio intense. For me, it would be hard not to loose weight doing these workouts. Also I just don't think you can bulk very well w/o deads and squats. Nothing in there that bears enough weight to add any size to your legs. Maybe you could bulk with it if you added a leg day at the gym and threw in so heavy work with your chest. The workouts are definitely good and intense. Tony is more than a little annoying, but it has an option to shut of most of what he says once you know the workouts. I think that all in all it is a very good program, but my opinion is based on a fairly cursury inspection. I'll be able to provide more feedback after I have completed the program.

I would agree with the legs program, however it would be good to still do it because it would really add a lot of definition. I am going to continue the program only slightly altered by adding more resistance to certain programs. Tony is an annoying MF! Just thought I would add that.

I will keep my progress posted to all that are interested in the program also.

Sorry to hear of your loss, my family just recently lost a member as well. Quick question, I have the disks as well. I have not used it as recommended, more as a filler from time to time. Are you using it alone or do u still visit the gym?

I use it at home although it wouldn't be that hard to use at the gym if you have an ipod with the arm band. I have all the programs on my ipod for times I go out of town. You should follow the program the best you can, it works certain muscle groups on certain days for a reason. What makes the program work so well is the muscle conusion, not just the wokouts. I'm only altering the resistance..ie.. When they do pushups, I benchpress. I still follow the foundation of the program so that I do not platau.

A buddy of mine at work recently bought the DVDs and swears by it now. He's been into triathalons for years, not much of a lifter but in awesome shape. He says its the hardest workout he's done. I need to borrow them so I can make copies.

it seems kind of pointless to do the prognam with a bulking diet seince its geared toward getting ripped....and why the gear too..... i would do the compleate program and get in great shape and then cycle.....it seems to me it would be mone benificial....if your going to use aas you might as well go for it with a bulking diet and training geared toward bodybuilding.......my 2 cents....

This is exactly what I was trying to say. Great program, but not a bulking program.

If you want to bulk, bulk then do p90x.

Reviving and old thread about P90X workouts

I am thinking about buying the P90X program but have questions if someone here could answer them

I have a crazy schedule so I have opportunities to do different workouts at three different places each week. Each location listed below has its benefits and drawbacks. For the P90X workouts, I only have access to a DVD player while at home a maximum of three days per week. FYI, I do not plan on working out seven days per week. I am considering this program to assist with weight and fat reduction NOT for bulking up, that will come later, after I get my 33% BMI down to a respectable level. FYI, I just started on Androgel for low T at its lowest dose.

Would doing this program on the three days I am home give me some results? Will a Weider 40 lb adjustable kettleball be a good source of resistance while doing the DVD workouts on those days?

    Possible Workout locations...
    1) My home which has a DVD player but no free weights. This is why I am considering buying one of those adjustable kettleballs for home. It wont take up much room at home.

    2) I am a firefighter and we get to use our park district fitness center while on duty for 1 hour (NO DVD PLAYER THERE). I work a typical 24 hrs on 48 hrs off schedule at the firehouse. Here I have access to freeweights. Since I currently do not work out a home it is here that I get regular workouts. I do 20 minutes of cardio and 40 minutes of some type of circuit training. I like the versitility of the kettleballs they have there and this is why I am considering buying one of the 40 lb Weider adjustable ones for home.

3 When off duty, I have to take my son and daughter to pre-school for 2 1/2 hours three days per week M,W,F at my local park district. While at this park district I can use there gym for a work out as well. It does not have a DVD but has free weights and no kettleballs.
