    Shoulders Advice Needed

My shoulders seem to get big but only by looking at them from the side. I need my shoulders to get wider from the face to face viewpoint. Any suggestions on exercises that would help this?

Anything that targets your posterior deltoids. Too many people concentrate on the lateral deltoids. Also i highly recommend you focus some bit on your posterior deltoids and supraspinatus, these muscle lagging behind is usually a key cause in rotary cuff injury's and commonly felt upper back pain.

here is a nice list of workouts my man.

Ha, I've got the opposite, would be curious to know what you did to get it that way, prob just genetics though I'm guessing.

well if you want increase in shoulder width as your implying from looking front on, training your lateral delt head is your best bet.

Upright rows, variations of lateral raises. Military press, bench press etc etc. Get those lifts up to a high weight and you'll be fine.

I don't think the military and shoulder press will do much for the width that I'm looking for. Reason being I have done those and my shoulder only get wider from a side view. Currently in my routine I'm not doing military press, just standing DB shoulder press.

Should I do the upright rows with a shoulder width grip or a narrow grip?

I am curious to hear the routines people are currently doing for their shoulders? With the 3 different muscle groups of the delts, supraspinatus, and rotary cuff it is important to be hitting them all. This seems as though it might be difficult to do with out overtraining? Thanks for the link above. I will be sure to incorporate a few of the excersises in there I haven't seen before.

I don't mean to high jack the thread. I think it's pertinent to the topic?

Unless you are an advanced lifter, you need not worry about these things, they are most likely very negligible. Just add overall size and once you get to an advanced level, you can worry about these things. If you're doing side delt exercises now, you'll be fine for now. Definitely not the time to worry about these things. Get the lifts up very high (the ones I mentioned) and you'll be fine.
