How many of you guys/girls have a workout partner?
I have a workout partner but he never wants to work out he always want to go hang out with his girlfriend. that. I need a good partner. Back when i started to workout i had the best partner ever. He showed up everyday and we worked out hard i gained about 15 pounds in 3 months clean with no gear. But he moved to a different part of the state. I just cant get motivated to go and workout. Im going to go tomorrow to my gym and see if any of the guys there need a partner.
I was just wondering how many of you here have a partner.

Lol! nobody can hang w me! Kidding, if u wanna grow u need a spotter. I don't like working out w other people cuz they always puss out on me. Lol! A lot of people don't even know how to spot rite, and end up hurting you. I usualy only need a spotter when going past falure, sooo just ask a big dude that u know works out or a trainer that's not doing anything. And motivate urself with a pre workout drink.

partner
I have a partner. On my second partner, but so far so good. He is new to working out and since I see strength gains in him I know I am pushing him. He helps me push past my limits on weights so we both are getting something from the gym.
I can go on my own, but I never lift as heavy as with a partner. Example. I would never dare put up 315-405 bench without a spotter. Might be mental for me, but I am always scared of muscle/joint failure with heavy weight above me......

I've gained 50 in one year when I had a partner, about the same size and driven. It was bad ass. Now he does comp rock climbing and I out wheigh him by 40lb. He's a freak tho! this dude does pullups w 2 fingers one on each hand. And can do pullups on like a 3/8 inch ledge its nuts! Sorry for the hijack, its just crazy!

My guy will do everything exactly as instructed by me. He never says no, too much, or tired. When i missed a day he'll asked which machines i used, but man i sometimes hate that he talks to close to my face.

partners
Partners make lifting worth it.... I can maintain weight on my own, but with a partner I do stupid weight, even had a gym trainer last year make me throw up after a few leg workouts! I will not let someone "PUNK" me at the gym if the trainer tells me to do more reps I do it. I might pay for it later, but thats the only way to know your true limits....at least for me.

My girlfriend is the best workout partner I have ever had... She is a little asian girl. 105lbs, 5-2. She kicks ass at the gym.

I been training at home for the last few months so no partner for me. But due to old injuries I try and not push so heavy that I need a spot, always gets me in trouble

Being 18 and in highschool having a consistent workout partner never seems to workout so great because something always happens so i rotate through a few friends all the time. But I have to say one of my good friends is going to college for football and when we workout together it is insane. We literally compete on everything. He used to bench so much more than me and now I caught him. We are both right at about 300 now but our entire workout focuses around one upping each other by 1 rep or 5 or 10lbs.
Needless to say we are dead by the end. The only problem is lately we have both gotten stronger and we are going extremely heavy and i can tell its putting some strain on my rotator cuffs and joints so we are backing off a little and hitting the exercise bands to work on those joints so we dont hurt something

I'd rather workout alone. I am very self motivated in the gym though. I do a lot of drop sets, mix in some machines to go to failure then partials and just ask someone
for a spot when I need a spot.

Heavy days I grab a trainer for a spot.

i dont mind training alone but it sucks when you want to add that weight with no spotter, i would grab my wife to spot me when she was home that helped alot. a good partner in the gym is hard to find alot of guys like to BS more than lift! i cant wait until my wife can spot again so i can up my bench.

I don't use a partner. Most people in the gym are pretty cool and will give you a spot if you ask. Unfortunetly, finding someone who actually knows how to spot is the hard part.

I'd love a partner but I barely squeeze in enough time for the gym now. If I had a partner it would probably add almost a half hour on to my routine... I go around the same time everyday and have a few people I can always count on for a spot now. Sucked in the beginning though. LOL sometimes I almost feel like people are ignoring me intentionally when I'm looking around for one! Can be frustrating when the time between sets is ticking away.

Me and my ipod. But, if you want to grow, you need to goto failure so when needed I ask for a spot.

alone, most partners I've ever had always flake out. Most people aren't as passionate about weight training. It pisses me off. A lot of guys in my unit keep commenting on my progress and say "I'm gonna start coming to the gym with you!" but when it comes time to go they always have something stupid to do.

well that just military protocol. anytime something is to be done something comes up and can't make it. i lost my training partner 2 years ago when he deployed and i was getting out. i tried so many but they jsut flakes. i now make it a habit of crushing these flakes when they try to get on my level. luckily i moved home and took me a few months but found a solid partner. schooled him a bit on a few of his mistakes but the dude had heart. 9 months later we still at it and getting ready for rd 2 together of hulkin fun.he 20 lbs heavier and i'm 4% leaner. good mix we got.

nevr had a workout partner before, but just recently my wife started working out with me, and though the strength difference is massive. I haven't seen a problem yet.
mostly IMO a work out partner is just to help you stay going and spot you 10-20lbs so she is working just fine.

my brother is my partner. We spot each other and since we started lifting together we are both making alot more progress than we were.

I normally workout alone as I hate to be distracted. But my bf and I are planning on joining the same gym so I would imagine I will be doing my cardio with him. I do way more cardio than he does as hes looking to gain size and I want to lose a couple of lbs and tone up. I think trying to find someone like minded in goals is the hard part. I personally think that working out alone is preferable but I have a lot of friends that need someone to work off of to keep them motivated. I am kind of stubborn so when I set my mind to something I can do pretty much anything!

I did for several years years ago. We worked out good together but I admit my gains where limited compared to now.
I prefer to work out alone and not talk to anyone for the most part. I like to get it done and I sweat like I am doing cardio the whole time and like to keep my momentum going.
