    Pullups

I know it sounds like a stupid question, but what would be the best way to start being able to do wide grip chinups on a 8-10 rep basis? I have been doing assisted but cannot do the free bar. pathetic i know. NEED HELP!!

First, try to learn how to make proper reversal pull ups.
Once you can accomplish 5 reps of those, you will make more than 10 in the normal way.

No, it means upside down, face toward the floor with legs up, grabbing the bar with your hands.

agree, though i wouldve thought people who join a steroid forum would be able to do a pull up, especially with the name 'gymjunkie' lol

anyways mate, agree just try doing 1

if you cant do 1 the try other grips that you can do a pull up with, if you can strength these lifts ull also strength ur lats up, and give yourself a better shot at being able to do a pull up

if you cna only do a pull up assisted then maybe u should work more on that assisted machine until you can do it without it

Do wide grip pulldowns on a lat machine with weights you can manage for 10-12 reps. increase weight as strengh develops. before long you'll be doing pullups just fine.

How heavy are you? My workout partner is 315 pounds and very strong but has a lot of trouble with chinups and pullups. If you have a lot of body fat compared to muscle your chances of doing chinups won't be good. Then you need to concentrate on diet and lose some of the fat before you can accomplish a chinup...
