Why can't I deadlift more or Squat more.

Let me set the scene. I can do 240lb wide grip lat pull downs and 220lb close grip lat pull downs for my final 6 rep set. And I can do T bar rows with 180lb's on it but why for the life of me am I finding it hard to deadlift 260lb's for more than 2 rep's? I do deadlifting as my final exercise that maybe it but I have done deadlifting as my final excerise for years so I dunno it maybe that or could be a combo of my forearms too tired. It would be good to get advice and experiences from the older lifters here for some advice.

And my squating for some reason I can do 260LB squating every once in a while but for the past coule of weeks for some reason I can't manage more than 220lb's. It is cos again I do it last after all the other leg exercises.

Should I be starting with these exercises maybe for a change??

    Damien.

you probably are doing those pull downs real sloppy, nothing wrong with deadlifts last at back but your squats should be first for legs

Nope the lat pull downs are fairly controlled to be honest. I have seen sloppy lifting techniques so I don't do that there's no point in doing that when your getting nothing out of lifting the weight. I've always had a good pull down weight to be honest it would be one of my stronger exercises traditionally hence why I start on it for a kinda physcological reason.

Cool, next week I'll start on Squating. I normally do squating bare footed would using shoes or not have any baring on it just thinking out loud here for reasons.

IDK about the shoes or not, make sure you do deep squats bring your ass as far to the ground as possible and your squat will go up.

You can try putting your DLs with something else. Maybe for one day you can just have a workout centered around your deadlift, if you dont do any power cleans you should that will make you stronger too.

Cool, ya my squats are breaking parallell and are getting lower every week so that maybe helping me get stronger in the long run.

Cool, by power cleans you mean lifting the weight from the floor up to my shoulders ya and repeating?

Yeah theres a little more to it than that though, I suggest looking up some videos to get it down or ask a trainer at your gym to show you the proper form, theyre pretty easy and feel amazing, and its pretty Fing beastly when you go heavy with em
