Half reps to go beyond failure

Anybody using half reps? What exercises? How do you feel about them are they taking you to the next level etc?

I'll do half reps with side lateral raises and some row exercises. I think they are worth it.

partials are good to break through sticking points, you can use much heavier weight and still get a good contraction, but full range of motion is always gonna work better...

A good example of partials is doing squats in a power rack with the bars at a hieght that allows you to go half way down instead of ass to floor...

you can use much more weight using this technique for squating, but partials should only be used to break sticking points or platues, full range of motion past failure is better imo...

I regularly find myself going half at the end of a rear deltoid raise. for some reason, the weights are too light (it seems) for my first set of 15, so I go a little heavier and finish up with half reps. On my second set of 10, I pretty much do the same thing. On my third set of 5 reps, I go heavy and find myself going half reps after two. I've always had difficulties with this raise. My results are decent, my form is less than ideal on this one. I always work out solo, and don't have the luxury of having a pro show me the error of my ways. But I get it done.
