    Lightbulb Honey while working out....?

Just a little curious and would like to know what others think of this, but while I'm working out, I have one glass full of tonic water, and a squeeze bottle of honey. After a set, I go for the tonic water (it has quinine to prevent cramps, something to consider when you get older), and right before the next set, just a little squirt of honey. I started doing this lately, and noticed the intensity of my workouts has improved quite a bit. Evidently, the bump in blood sugar helps me with focus and motivation. What do you guys think?

There is an older guy who is about 55yrs old that works out at my gym and he drink tonic water too. At first I thought he was a raging alcoholic and when I asked him about it he said it helps him becuase of an injury he had from when he was younger. Apparently he tore his bicep or something along those lines and when he lifts it bothers him. He said he notices a difference from when he drinks the water to when he doesnt. I've never tried it, but thats what i have seen.

for some reason, older guys that strength train with the heavy weights have to deal with the cramping issue. I also dose up my potassium/calcium/magnesium to keep my electrolites up. Plus I eat one to two bananas a day.

But I was curious to see what you all thought about the honey technique. I'm sure it's been done before, and it sure helped me!

I know my friend would eat a huge amount of honey on bread, quick energy and I am probably wrong but I've heard a few times that honey has an effect on raising your adrenaline.

I'm not sure. I just squeeze bottle direct into my pie hole a lil bit and it seems to make a difference, maybe more so than just simple sugar. I know honey has alot of micro nutrients you won't find in table sugar.

Carb + Amino Acids during workout will do wonders. I used to mix a scoop of whey and a scoop of gatorade in a sports bottle with water to drink during my workout. It works but I got sick of the taste fast. Just look into getting a during workout drink... more convenient and does the trick. Save the honey to spike insulin after your workout.
