    HIT question

I workout 2-3 times a week (depending on when i feel I recover). I do 2 high rep warmup sets, then one set heavy for as many reps as I can. For the heavy set, how many reps should I be busting out? less than 6? I grab a heavy weight, and pump out 5-6, then7, then struggle to get 8, until I hit around 11 and Im completely worn out. Should I not be doing such high reps for my final work set?

6-8 reps is fine for the last set but I think you should be doing at least 2 sets of heavy, not only one.

I agree on the 6-8 rep range, but I've had good success using one heavy set (one set including static holds and forced reps)

^^ Yea D7M, thats what I have been doing for about a month now (one heavy set, two nice warmups). The thing is, I grab weight that I think I can hit for 6-8 range, but then with forced reps I end up doing like 9-12...

After a warm up, I do one work set when using HIT.

That one working set is 6-8 reps to absolute failure. Then I go into forced reps.

So, yah, I do actually do 9-10 reps in total.

Also, I don't like training HIT for more than 8-10 weeks. Then I switch back to volume to give my body a little break.
