    Chronic Fatigue! Help?

    Hey guys!

I do not know if i am in the correct section. I'll give it a shot anyways, because this fatigue is critical.
Well, i have been resting for 3 weeks now, tomorrow is the beginning of my 4th rest weak from a 5 week block of peak training. I did not listen to my trainer 1 week after my first week of rest. I went and road my bike and i guess i put my self and my gains back ( delayed). Now i have been trying to ride for 3 weeks 1 day of the week @ a time and my legs r just not FRESH. I have a big bicycle race coming up this weekend and i want to TRY to be somewhat fresh.
    Any help?

is this 4 weeks of rest without doing anything? or just cycling?

I make sure i get 3 days of rest in a week. @ Least...Other wise every other day is a light spin on the stationary or spin bike for 30 - 45 minutes to induce the recovery. Tuesdays or fridays i try to ride and find out if im fresh. Past 3 weeks my legs have been shot after a couple of light sprints trying to ride the bike. This week im just going to rest and nap as much as i can. Any other suggestions or help anyone?

Anyone suggest getting bloodwork done @ the Doc? My trainer is getting worried and says it shouldnt be taking this long. It kinda feels like its getting worse or just staying the same.

Can everything else be ruled out? Are you eating proper for your training? Bloodwork wouldn't hurt but I wouldn't look too much into it because it's not going to help you much for your race coming up.

    What are your stats?

Diet: Most of the time Egg Whites, Kashi Cereal or Plain oats w/ some brown sugar added. Sometimes peanut better sandwiches on some whole grain wheat bread. Ive switched that up to salmon and some cheese sandwiches on that wheat bread for snacks. Bananas or just fruit in general. Around 120g of protein Powder. Around dinner time i eat a 32g of protein chicken breast with around 85g of sodium. Ill nibble or eat a couple of those towards bed time or so.

Ive been " training " for about 10 years but really got into it 4 years ago. Ive learned alot over the years but now that i have a trainer i know i just learn and follow wut he says.

I mean no injuries that could have changed your training... sudden changes to diet or training... etc.

Ok well first of all your diet sucks, but that is for another thread. Have you thought about a carb load?

I know very little about bicycle racing but I do know about endurance training so unless I am misunderstanding the issues it appears you are unable to replenish glycogen stores properly. I am assuming you are fit if you are racing. Anyway you can try this=

    6days out = 4g/kg of bodyweight (90 minute training at 70-75% of vo2 max)
    4-5 days out = 4 g/kg of bodyweight (70-75% for 40 minutes)
    2-3 days out = 10g/kg of bodyweight (70-75% for 20 minutes)
1 day out = 10g/kg of bw (rest)

    hope that helps

This. I'd start that other thread ASAP. It looks very, very bad. I know endurance athletes have different needs but your diet still isn't justifiable.

Twist thanks bro, but i dont understand what u r suggesting me to try im sitting here trying to figure it out but i cant lol explain?
And yeah...its my diet. I was talking to my ex gf's dad last night. He said soak for an hour in hot water / epsom salt. Drink a liter of pedialyte a day chased by around 2 gallons. He said im in the - zone, i tapped in to my central nervous system and im dipleeted. Sorry for that misspelling but im sure you guys will get it lol Did that last night and feeling slight better.

Just going to copy and paste in diet forums. Maybe i can log on and solve this before saturday. Thanks all!
