    Heavy Benchpress & Shoulder

    i was curious to know is there anything i could do to help my shoulders during bench pressing. there not hurt or anything but im just thinking future wise because my bench has gone up to 210kg and i just dont want shoulder to rip out the socket or anything like that..

    any tips

    Always utilize proper technique via correct posture, grip width that's not too wide or too close, contracting your upper back (especially shoulder blades while keeping them flat on the bench to allow a solid base to press from), wide foot position to increase stability, and most importantly pressing in a straight line. Keep the anterior fibers of your deltoid strong to help improve your chest movements. Perform rotary cuff exercises on the norm to strengthen them and to avoid injuries. NEVER stretch a cold muscle, and never let your ego get a hold of you.

    As above^^

    Keep the elbows in...you must already have good from if you are lifting 210k....thats is some soild weight, well done!

    I forgot a couple things. Always keep your back slightly arched, not too much but not too little while keeping the chest flared out. And lastly avoid the smith machine for any chest pressing or shoulder pressing movements. Reason being it actually weakens your stabilizer fibers and prevents you from performing your natural range of motion, thus creating an elevated risk of screwing yourself up for good or worse.

    I used to do military press on the smith machine but not any more.

    My form is perfect but just got curious if the body could withstand that much weight without coppin a injury. thanks for the compliment i appreciate it.

    i weigh in now at 133kg
