    Off Days...

Wondering what other people think about the necessary amount of off days each week for recovery. I am thinking of a 2 on 1off rotation but wondering if a two day in a row break is required once a week to get adequate recovery. Also is an off day no gym time? Or are most guys using their off day for cardio?

I train 4 days per week. Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday. This allows me to recover pretty well. I don't think I could add a fifth in there and make all of the workouts as effective as they are now, but recovery is largely individual.

The important thing is that you give each muscle enough time to recover before working it again. Meaning you don't wanna do chest and then two days later when your chest is still sore work it again. Two on 1 off is fine. It would still average out to two days off per week.

I train pretty heavy, so i try to stay within 3-4 days training per week.
