    Training Split

I have always followed pretty much the same split

    Day 1: Chest
    Day 2: Bi's and Tri's
    Day 3: Legs n Abs
    Day 4: Shoulders
    Day 5: Back

So I hit each muscle one time a week. Now granted I have put on 32lbs since July when I started back, most from muscle memory because I have lifted off and on for 11 years.

However, I have an Amateur Bodybuilder and a few guys who train with him that more or less circuit train or HIT train I guess? They do the whole body every day, just a few exercises for each part, and they rotate the exercises daily, so it's not the same ones everyday. Anyone else do this and have good results?

My concern would be the lack of recovery, altho you're not putting as much stress on the muscle as you would doing 15 sets on it in one day. Just wanted to get some opinions, sort of curious to try this.

^^^I would thhink you could get "fit" that way, but not buff/big.. i just don't see how you can do enough damage to your muscles if you do not annialate them with at least 12-14 good sets

Everybody responds differently to different styles of training..... I'm personally not a fan of that routine tho. I grow from lifting heavy and intense..... a routine like that probably wouldn't do me well. It doesn't hurt to try it..... it's all a part of learning your body and what works for you.....

Seems more like something that would work if you were already big and just wanted to maintain that size while maybe toning up a little. To try it out, do your regular routine mon-thurs and then hit full body on Friday. See if you like it.

if its not broke dont fix it.

i train like this when im cutting and when bulking i pair appropriate groups up and train eod

if you know your body you'll know when its going stale and peaking, take a break and start again with a diff routine

Yea what I'm doing is definitely working. I mean I am not big like alot of you guys are, but I'm the big guy in my crowd ya kno. A girl I've been training has worked out with them guys a while, and they have grown which is weird...and she is interested in doing it. I just felt like recovery would be an issue along with not hitting enough sets on the muscle, which you would be just not at one time. They said the advantage of this was if you had to miss a day, then you didn't miss that bodypart for the week, which I usually have a mixed schedule, so I do the next body part in line the next time I can make it. I'm in there atleast 4 times a week

Only true way to know if something will work for you is to try it. If you're see great gains right now I would hold off till you hit a plateau.

Well I got to my weight quick, and have sort of just been holding steady. I think I am going to try it for about 4 weeks to see what I think. Not like I have a time limit, I plan to always workout anyway

Keep in mind your weight gain couldve have stopped because of diet. Your calorie intake might not be high enough for the new weight.

Let us know how you like the new routine.

The new routine took me half a day to decide no way. I don't feel I'm going to benefit from that unless I was in the gym like 4 hrs....I don't have that much time.
