should i do dead lifts?
Should i do dead lifts in my back workout, i already have 12 total sets with 4 exercises, should i get rid of one and add the dead lifts there
right now i have :
3 sets t-bar rows
3 sets lat pull down
3 sets one arm dumbell rows
3 sets chin ups
i want to change it to
3 sets t-bar rows
3 sets lat pull down
3 sets dead lifts
3 sets chin ups
another thing, i like to switch my back workout up, so what would be another exercise to take place of the dead lifts, for example for rows i do the t-bar rows, then i change up to barbell rows,
let me know what u think

Try adding them in and see how you feel, if you feel like crap or overtraining then give them a separate time. I do mine before one of my light cardio sessions.

Try both and see which way feels better. All-in-all it will be a personal thing bro, no one but you can tell you what your body will like better.

jurewix- tyr doing all 5 exercises, you'll be able to tell if you're overtraining. Just give it a try and see how it goes.

Here's an ex. of one of my back routines, now jurewix, I'm not saying this will work for you, it's just an ex.
Warm-up: 3 sets of 15 pull-ups
deadlifts: 2 warm-up sets, 4 working sets 8,8,6,4
cable rows: 4 working sets of 8-10 reps
lawnmower's: 4 working sets of 8-10
lat pulls: 4 working sets of 8-10
I rotate the deads with some iso-row machines my gym has every other week. Yes in a couple of weeks you will notice if you're oertraining or not. Just listen to your body.

Lawnmowers- use dumbells, rest one hand and one knee on a bench, lean over and pull the dumbell up to yuor side, just like starting a lawnmower. If that still has you confused I'll try to explain more.

Hey Tex have you ever heard about a workout called farmers workout? I saw this kid in the gym doing some crazy things. One of the exercises he was him doing was a shrug walking like 50 feet with Db's in hand. It looks good for a mi up.

I switch deads every other week with the iso-row machines at my gym. The weight I use on my deadlifts haven't suffered either.

OH..i guess i'd call those 1 arm dumbbell rows then.. I misread your post and thought you said you did them sitting down. I've done that walkin shrug workout before, but that's more of a powerlifting type workout as regular shrugs are just as effective for hitting the traps..the walking shrug works grip and forearms also.

LOL, what is the walking doing. If you are doing traps then concentrate on them, if you are doing legs concentrate on them. Don't try to combine workouts.
