Is it necessary to take a day off after working out while on gear

I was reading the anabolic workout on the main site and it said that you should always follow a day of training by a day of rest. I was thinking of 5 days on 2 days off when I start my first cycle. What do you guys think?

It is not necessary though you do need some days off.

5 on 2 off is legit IMO. Just make sure you aren't overworking some muscles in your design, like doing shoulders the day after chest etc.

It all depends on your age, goals, history, etc. There's no magic formula. I usually take day(s) off after very heavy days. I'm also 37 with a long history of very heavy training.

Are you saying you work the same parts days in a row?
