    P90X Routine

Just curious of peoples thoughts & opinions on the P90X / Insanity workout regime. Are there any fundemental flaws, loopholes, etc ? What are the advantages / disadvantages over a traditional lifting routine?

I did the Insanity workout for 45 days due to the fact that I had to have surgery before I could finish it, and I'll tell you one thing. That thing works!! It is insane just as the title says. I went from 249lbs to 205 right now after 45 days. Went from a 38" waist to now a 34". Stick to it and don't slack or miss a day and you will see unbelievable results!!

    Good Luck

P90X isn't so bad. It really depends on your goals. You're not gonna gain mass like you would with traditional gym exercises, but if you're just trying to "stay in shape" it's not bad. You have to consider the demographic; people that don't want to leave their house and want to get ripped in 90 days. I'll bet 90% of the people who buy this tape have it collecting dust. If you stuck to ANY routine on a tape you'd probably get results. Something>Nothing. You know Tony Horton doesn't stay at home doing his tapes, he goes to the gym so keep that in mind.

you said it. it all depends on your goals. it is a fantastic program and it works like everything else. no matter if you are in a gym or doing it in your home, consistency is the key to getting results!

I like P90X but I do not do the plyometrics. I think some of the moves are useless and too hard on the joints. And I stayed away from the yoga as well. 90 minutes of yoga drove me nuts.

P90X is best for people who fall into what is known as "skinny-fat". people who do not look fat while wearing clothes, but are usually above 22% bodyfat.

Insanity is a very good High intensity cardio program, that is very difficult to get through. If you are laready in pretty good shape and want to focus on fat burning for a couple of months it is a solid choice.
