Dead lifts
just wondering about dead lifts in the past I have stuck with stiff leg dead lifts and wondering if I should be using one of the other techniques? Are there different methods for different purposes?

stiff legged uses hams allot more and you cant go nearly as heavy, also is more dangerous on your lower back. Sit down into it and go threw a motion like your squating......but down, chest forward, head up.

Thanks I really appreciate it. What are your thoughts on replacing this in my workout routine with clean and jerk? any advantages or disadvantages?

The standard deadlift is an excellent exercise that will help to develop many areas...
Lower back
Glutes
Hams
Lats
Traps
Forearms
Core
And even quads...
I like to keep my deadlifts heavy and usually keep reps to 5...
Deadlifting to failure has to be one of the best exercises out there... Along with squats....
