Thread: Night work outs?

    Night work outs?

What do you guys think about night work outs? I try to work out in the morning, however, im real sluggish and find it hard to put up high numbers. But at night I get a burst of energy. I get a much better work out and I lift heavier and put up more reps. Is it bad to lift at night or is it ok?

Go with what your body is telling you. If you're having better sessions at night keep it up.

I lift at night, most of the bigger guys also lift at night at my gym. Does that mean it's the best ? Nope. I personally prefer going at night because I have more food in me and I feel like I have more energy. I would never workout twice a day your overloading your body and CNS and you will burn out very quickly. Fasted Cardio in the AM + lifting weights in the PM is a great option, but lifting weights 2x a week is a huge blunder in my opinion.

Basically, the best time to workout is the time you can make it to the gym however many days you go a week. Whether its 6:00am or 3:30 pm or 8:30 pm if you can make it at whatever time 5 days a week then choose that time. Your body will eventually adjust to the timing in any case. I have friends that use to workout in the morning all the time with great success then changed jobs and now are forced to work in the evening because that's when they are available. Was a hard transition at first, but eventually they got into a schedule.
