    Outer pec development

Having trouble developing the outer pecs. What's a good exercise to do to develop these muscles? I do chest 2 times a week. One day is bb work and the other is db work. Usually 10-12 sets per day.

    your doing to much chest
there are no such things as "outer pec muscles"
i hope your not doing tris or shouulders too, because they would be getting worked 4 times a week=no recovery this no growth
just focus on getting stronger for n ow and your muscle size will increase

I agree, too much chest work. If you are going to work your chest 2x a week, do one day heavy (strength) and the other day light (hypertrophy).

As far as outer chest, I would try to focus on using a wide grip on barbell bench press.

I would think one high-volume chest workout per week is plenty. To incorporate both BB and DB, alternate each week.

As the last poster said, wide-grip barbell bench press is the best way to develop your outer pectorals. Dumbell bench press is also good for outer pecs.

Any evidence to suggest you can alter the genetically predisposed shape of a muscle by changing the way you work it out? Seems to me all you can do is make the muscle stronger/bigger, and it grows in whatever shape it wants to.
