    Female training

Ok so I'm asking on behalf of my girlfriend.
She has been training with me for a few years now and has been following a simlar regime to me. Which is lift 5 times a week for 45 mins followed by 20 mins of cardio. She diets resonabally well and has dropped some body fat since beginning. She is trying to get that really athletic body that you see in the magazines but is questioning if the ruitine she is doing is right for her??? She has actually put on a fair bit of muscle for a female. Her stats are

    25yo
    5'1
    108lbs

I have looked everywhere on the net and can't seem to find any training ruitines for girls. If anyone could give me any ideas or point me in the right direction I would be very thankful.

    Hi,

My wife is also 25 and she follows the same training as I do. Works great for her.
She is also 5'1 and weighs 110 pounds.

After Thought: I've been thinking about your post and have been all over the internet looking up articles. There seems to be no physiological reason for women to train differently from men. muscles work the same ways in both men and women except men have more testosterone so we get bigger and harder. My wife follows whatever routine I'm doing except she does more Cardio than I do.

I believe females respond better to a circuit training type of routine. They normally burn more cals and keep a higher heart rate than the conventional style of training. This also helps with the myth that most females think they are going to get huge if they train like guys. Google "female circuit training" and you should find some nice routines.

My wife is 41, 5'3" 115... She does the same exact workout I do with me, except she also does cardio. It is fun to watch her dead lifting with 35's on the bar. She started with 5lbs and has gotten up to 35lbs in about 3 months. Of course I have been rubbing testosterone gel on her at night while she is sleeping and she doesn't know it. (j/k)

Hey guys thanks heaps for the reply's! I've introduced some drop sets and supersets into the routine and fixed her diet up a bit and straight away she is seeing results.

I am thinking of throwing in something like circuit training maybe some giants sets into the program as well to keep the heart rate up.
