I like to, but I don't target them very hard, just enough to keep them in shape. If you're gonna target them hard, then do not train them every workout. Also, it doesn't make a difference if you train your abs before or after your back. I do them after.

I do abs once a week. I use a swiss ball with my feet on them and extend out all (arms are straight out as if I were holding them over my head keeping my body rigid.) the way then pike up. I do them last.

I typically work them every other workout or so which comes out to close to 3 times a week. Favorite ab work out is definitely hanging leg raises.

abs are just like any other muscle...they need rest to grow

I only do them once a month on leg days. They get used alot when I do deads, squats. My abs and obliques are the size I want, I just do it to compensate for getting larger spinal erectus. I prefer smaller waist line.

when you say back what do you mean? Your abs are what should be stablizing your (low) back so doing low back exersices really mean doing core stablization exersices or abdominal isometric exersices. Lower rectus abdominis/ quadratus lombordum/ and tva are the muscles you want to train in order to have a strong low back.

Mostly people do abs once or twice a week. Hit them hard and remember to contract.
I usually do my abs on off days when I have only cardio and no weight training.

I do them about once a week. I do hanging leg raises with weight on my feet. I find this the only exercise that makes them sore the next few days. I've tried all types of exercises for them and nothing works them out like these. Yeah like the rest are saying, it's like any other muscle group. You just train it hard then give it time to repair itself. You can tell from how sore it is and by feeling that sensation from contraction during the week. When you can't feel the muscle soreness anymore from a contraction it's usually repaired.
