Bodybuilding has lowered my endurance, help guys

    What's up guys?

I've come across a problem. To begin with I like to compete in wrestling and every winter comes the season. So I'm trying to get in shape again before practices start. Well, I decided to see where I was at by going on the treadmill and discovered I was much slower than I'd thought! Took my 7.45 to run a mile. I hadn't done that bad since the 5th grade... and just merely a year ago it was less than 7. Also I've gained a lot of muscle and lost fat too, I'm looking like a bodybuilder but a bit fatter haha. Anyway its time I give this a rest and go do some contact sport game back on.

Question is, how should I go about training my cardio? and any ideas for increasing muscle endurance too? I need help guys, conditioning is so important and I'm way behind the game right now. Thanks for the help.

Have you not been doing any cardio for the last year? Just start up again, you'll prob get it back pretty fast. Your body is not used to suppling oxygen to this much muscle. Thats why its good to do cardio while bodybuilding.

Every time we gain in one aspect of sport we must subtract from another. Bodybuilding does not go well with endurance and there's no getting around it. Arnold used to say he was into bodybuilding, not health.
Even 7 minutes on a mile isn't too good. I'd go a third with running, a third with burbees/jumping jacks/rope jumping and a third with ground work with other wrestlers.

If you increase endurance training you will have to subtract from strength training..............just the facts of life.
