    How much is overtraining?

About 6-8 weeks ago i switched to doing one body part a week, i've been doing medium-heavy weight with 8-12 reps 3 sets a workout but i have SIX different workouts i will do for that body part. (unless it's arms or legs day which i will do 3 bi's and 3 tri's or 3 shoulders 3 legs) So all in all on days likes chest or back i will do 18 sets total for those specific muscle groups. So the main question is, would that be considered overtraining and can anybody recommend something else where i can get the same if not better results.

So in other words, even if i did 30 sets of one body part that wouldn't be considered over training unless i injured myself?

that would be over training, i mean within reason, if you can do 30 sets then you havent sufficiently hit a muscle. its all about efficiency, you want it finished off in minimum time whilst doing so safely, ie: progress up the weight until you hit your maxs in accordance with your goals
