Just bought a treadmill to use at home, so was planning on doing it right when I get up in the morning with amino acid tabs in my stomach thats it. What would you recommend for intensity and duration?

40mins at 60%-70% of your max heart rate as always been a sweet spot for me what works well.
Agreed .. sounds like a great investment.. getting you cardio with out having to go outside... but after u spend 5min on one and it feels like you have been on it all day you start thinking that it may not have been the most brilliant idea for that week
I luv riding have a sick road bike.. but weather in OZ is ether a 1,000 degree C or pissing down rain.. so i bought a cyclops for almost 400 bills .. put it in front of the TV .. chucked my bike on it.. road my ass off to 2 days and sold it on ebay ..
Got a treadmill in my house. I use it all the time lolOriginally Posted by ramacher

Same as 90% of the home workout equipment. I'm SO glad I got rid of my stuff and even more glad I got most of it for free or close to free. Perfect treadmill from CL for free, sold it 1 month later for $150.
Even my inversion table is under my bed gaining dust.
Now get out side and walk/Run.
X2. I usually go 40 minutes to an hour depending on how i feel.
I contribute much of my weight loss to empty stomach cardio first thing in the morning. I would love an at home treadmill. I have been very motivated in my weight loss therefore i never miss my cardio. My gym is only a few minutes away but rolling out of bed, hopping on the treadmill, then eating sounds amazing.
it's a funny debate. I had a treadmill in my living room for a few years. I preferred to grab the dog and walk around the park instead.
three con's as i see it:
noise
takes up much space
cost
while i was away, i did seem to gravitate to the stationary bike as it gives the legs a nice workout with the adjustable tensioner
It depends. If you get bored running then a treadmill isn't for you. If not it will be fine
Hell yeah. Music changes everything.Originally Posted by Noles12

Diddo this... but wanted to add that finding a spot on your cardio machine that keeps it fun and not so painful will help as well. I have seen myself as well as others try and push too hard up front and burnout on a treadmill. Finding a happy spot and building up gradually will give you the best results over all. Treadmills can't be beat if you live in a place with inclement weather. Good luck!
