    Jui Jitsu

Just began to train with someone. I didn't realize how out of shape I was. Could doing this two to three times a week substitute doing cardio on a treadmill or running? By the way, I never realized how a kick to the quad would hurt so damn much!!

One thing I do is this, I have a heavy bag right near the stationary bike. I ride the bike for 10 minutes get right up and hit the bag straight for 5 minutes then back on the bike for 5, then bag 5, then bike 5 and bag 5 again. It keeps ya from being bored riding the bike, and from getting so tired from the bag that you are sick of hitting it and call it quits. Its a good workout I find. Really helps me for when I sparr friends, stamina wise.

Damn if someone ever pisses you off while your riding your bike they would be screwed, I mean damn a solid 5 minute ass beating and then you just ride away.

Try this if your gym has bags, I did this when I boxed:
3 mins - Jumping rope 1 -min break in between each excersize
    3 mins - heavy bag - brk-
    3 mins - bike - brk -
    3 mins - speed bag - brk -
    3 mins - jumping rope - brk -
3 mins - french bag -brk-
then repeat till you vomit! Start at 1 min and then 2-3
When hitting the bags, you need to throw combinations and try to switch stances!

You guys are funny. But I will tell ya this, I've bounced downtown for 3 years 5 days a week, and I've never been taken out. I do that to build stamina on the days I am not training at the dojo. Laugh if you want but I rely on my fists to intimidate people, how many asses have you kicked just benching alot? But it was kinda funny. Love you guys none the less. But none the more either.

For all the people here that practice Jui Jitsu. I have been wanting to get into this sport for some time, but the catch is.... I don't have insurance. How often do you get seriously hurt in this sport? Seems like a lot of fun considering i had a great time wrestling in high school.
