    Tues is back and bis
    Wed off
    Thurs legs
    Friday shoulders
On my back day i did bent over rows, lat pull downs, and db rows

no way i could give deads 100% on same day as squats its far too taxing
do stiff leg deads on leg day this focuses on hams more and therefore better option i.m.o

for what its worth my back routine at moment is as follows

deads or weighted pull ups, i alternate each week and pyramid weight down to a 2 rep max
close grip (semi-supinated, palms face eachother) lat pull down - 2 warm up 2 working with dropsets
barbell bent over row with reverse grip - 3 working sets
seated row machine (legs high and pull as low as possible) - 3 working sets with static holds on every rep
straight arm lat pull down - 3 working sets 1 to complete failure and then done

I agree that's what I was wondering... either stiff legs or rack pulls? Btw I'm keeping it simple and really heavy right now. Havnt been in the gym in a minute my indurance has suffered a lot lately because of the new born and work.

I agree with Dan on this. No way I can give Deads the same effort on a leg day. My legs are cooked.

I will say that I know a lot of good bros that do it that way and are solid. It all depends on intensity and overall routine setup. If you decide to not do it on legs, it might be good to do it as a variation from time to time. Also, if you did do on the same day as leg, make sure you focus more on the leg movement than the lower back. If you press down with feet and keep your butt lower I find that focus' more on the legs. my 2cents.

Your back day sound really similar to mine! Have you tried doing the straight arm lat pull downs w/ the rope? I really feel this in my lats when at the bottom of the movement (finish around waist level) you turn your palms downward which causes the rope ends to point outward...I think I now like the rope better than the straight bar w/ this exercise. I also like to superset this w/ low rows some. Anyhow, give it a try (if my description made sense) and let me know what you think.

As far as the OP's question...NO, I would not do non-stiff leg dead lifts on leg day. Why not just do these on back day every other week?

Deads w/back day, (first exercise), then then high pull down movements, then ill do another back day 4 days later with no Deads and low pull movements.

I'll bump this thread and report back on it

I like to do light weight/high rep deads at the end of my leg training occasionally. I will usually start with stiff legs and finish the set with normal deadlift's. Kills your glutes and hams.

just squat and deadlift on leg day and you've hit all the muscles you need.

Right now im just trying to focus on the big lifts... lower reps heavy weight. Im doing 4 sets of 6-8 as heavy as i can go. each week ill either up in weight or reps or both. Its a different approach for me but thats why im trying to set up a good routine to build an over all good base to my frame if that makes sense. Also when im doing my bent over rows and pull downs im using overhand grip to use less of my biceps because i do them after my back exercises. Should I change this up? Shit I might have to go back to a 5 day split, thats when I saw most gains but i have alot less time on my hands now days.

Alex, what else do you do on leg day if your doing those lifts first?

    Bump

6 of us were doing a circut today and I got this incoporated into it

Everybody loved the exercise, slow as possible coming back up with a couple.second pause at bottom

Excellent exercise, much better than with straight bar

    Thanks mate

I agree do deads on back day but make sure there is at least 3 days between back and leg day; however, if you do a lower/upper split, then you would do deads on leg day. An example would be
Mon: Quad dominate to include squats
Thurs: Hip dominate to include deads.

Glad you liked it bro! At my gym the low row cable machine is located right next to upper pulley so I normally superset these rope pull downs w/ low row. Heavy low rows 1st of course.

I done the circut at my mma gym, we dont have cable row machine, its fairly basic there but I actually prefer cable rows to ordinary bent over rows, I have legs high and pull low with a 3-4 second pause on every rep to really engage lats, semi supinated grip and really feel it.

But bent over row with reverse grip rules all the different types of rows I.M.O

I am doing back tomorrow in my ''ordinary'' gym so I shall superset it with low cable rows and yes im expecting my lats to burn lol
