Angry On again and off again!! Advice please... :-/

Ok, I'm 6'1", weigh 235 lbs. About 15 percent bf. Have been working out solid since 2005. Now that i have a fiance and a baby on the way, not to mention 12 hr shifts in the oilfield, I find it hard to stay motivated or find the energy to stay in the gym. I've fallen off... I'll be back in solid for a good couple weeks then fall off again. I need help!! And I feel like shit cuz I know what I lifted before and now I just feel embarrassed to not be lifting what I could before. I was at my best, 255 lbs at 12 percent bf. If anyone has been here and made it back to the top, I could sure use some brotherly advice. Thanks a ton!

I've been there. And to a certain degree, i still am. I have to get there between work, 5 kids and the wife. Not to mention parents and other family and friends. What's been working for me is going to the gym every other day and working 2 bodyparts on those days. but, on some days i just can't go. As a matter of fact, i missed yesterday and it's killing me. Just try to know it's best to be going rather than not going at all regardless of feeling tired or not making it in.

How old are you? I'm 43 and i know what you mean by not being able to lift like you used to. This getting old is for the damn birds!! Just concentrate on what you can do now and work off of that. Stay dedicated and it will come.

    Good Luck

I'm 48 6'1.5 245 10 percent BF I have a little kid at home a full time job and hobbies... It's not a race... Body building in my opinion is all about the long term not the here and now. Work out when you can, get a mirror or something to help you stay focused. It's better to work out for 1 hour 4 days a week or 30 min 3 days a week than to hit it for a week and miss two weeks. Accumulative effect is what BB's is all about. If you can't be consistent all the time kick your ass when you are lifting and make it your get away "your me time". Your wife and kid will thank you in the end. I feel for you buddy...you'll make it!

I am 57 and lets face it we all have times we are unable to do all we wish. Do not worry, your body remembers and you will come back better than ever. I know cos I have many times. Good luck and just do what you can. John
