Warm up
Hey guys, it takes me about 20-40 min to warm up to lift the max weight that I trow in to my sets, but by the time I get there I have already killed my energy , I usually keep a carb/ createin drink and that helps as I sip through the workout ( I found back in the day cell tech worked good) but I don't know what's good in the market now,
Any ways is there a way to warm up faster ?
I already start of with sweater jacket and sweat pants and strip as I go, and that helps but still not as fast

I barely warm up, also how are you burning out in 20 minutes? Something for chest usually goes like this for me... 50lb DB presses 12 reps rest. then 70lb DBs 10 reps. After that I move on to the actual lifts 80 x 10 90 x 10 100 x 6/8. Sometimes if I am feeling good ill hit up the 110s but I like to save a little bit for heavy incline and decline. For legs ill do extensions before heavy squats then hack squats and then heavy leg press. I barely go beyond an hour and a half worth of time at the gym, but sometimes I go into what feels like "Hulk Mode" where I just keep getting stronger. Just try warming up with slightly heavier weights and spend less time warming up.

I usually hit 10-15 mins of moderate cardio before strength training. Nothing intense but enough to get the blood circulating and the heart rate up. I find it helps me get into my strength training faster with fewer warm up reps.
Last week I skipped the cardio warm up because I was running late. Started with some heavy sets on leg extensions. Went on to standing calf raises at 600lbs. On the third rep of my first set, I felt and heard a "POP" in my left calf. Tore the damn gastrocnemius.
I learned the hard way - you can't take short cuts and you need to warm up!
I've been training hard 5 days a week for four years. It was a bone head mistake and now I'm facing almost 6 months for full recovery....and a whole lot of muscle atrophy!!!!
