    Getting started: Questions about routines

Here's what I've got: A smith Machine and about 300# of weights. Heavy bag, and a pull up bar. I intend to add to all this as I can afford it.

My current goals are to gain strength and lose this gut. But more importantly, I'm going for performance more than body building. After spending 9 years in the Amry and getting hurt in Iraq, it's time to reclaim my body and improve on the skinny but very fit guy I was when I was in, I got out in 2006. I miss having the energy and stamina I had back then. Able to carry a ruck all day, run for miles, and have enough energy to fight when we got to the objective. There was no weight training then, but there will be now.

I picked up a 12 week cycle of Deca, T. ENANTHATE, PROVIRON, NOLVADEX, and Clomid. I don't intend to use these right away, as I want to be fairly decently into my routine and conditioning before I go to this. I don't wish to screw myself up by starting to use gear too early.

So what I am here to ask about is a decent routine I can do while on cycle, as well as if any, a pre cycle routine.

    I am 36

5'6" and I weigh 167lbs and my belly fat is more like a pony keg than a serious beer gut.

Any help here would be appreciated. Thank you

First thing you have to sort is your BF% before starting a cycle ,whats your diet like?, is this your first cycle?, going by what you are writing it is your first cycle you dont wont to use two compounds for the first time ,test e for your cycle would be fine ,the best thing to do would post your cycle in the steriod section, post your diet in the nutrition section and you will get all the information on both these before you start anything as for a routine what are you looking to do put muscle on our just tone up ?

This is certainly to put on muscle. Body fat % I'll have to check, haven't done that yet. As for my diet, my wife has been the one doing meals so we sorta follow her habits of 4-5 smaller meals, since she is working on slimming down. So I eat clean, just more protein than she does.

Yeah, this will be my first cycle. I'll put the cycle into the proper section, I was mostly going for a possible routine or routines here. But what you say makes sense. Thank you

You could work a four day split Mon chest & tris Tues back & bis Wed day of rest Thur legs Fri shoulders & traps abs and cardio between two to three times a week I still think you should check your diet out mate rep range 6 to 8 and three sets to start off also a warm up set of around 15 reps hit the cardio to bring down your BF I would do it after your weights .When I am doing legs I would do 10 minutes on the bike to get a warm up and the blood in to them then hit my legs

I've always done Cardio as a warm up, 5 or 10 mins, then weights, then cardio for 20 mins. At least when I was younger (23 I'm now 36) and still in the Army. But got out and lazy LOL. I'll be looking about for nutrition info, my needs will not be the same as my wife. My diet will change in that maybe.

4 day split makes sense. Thank you very much!

i think this is not the answer he wanted...
we need calories and macros and the info on what and why you are eating the certain way.

4-5 smaller meals could be a hamburger and medium fries, and "eating clean" for some ppl could be eating potatoes with bacon and just skipping on a pudding afterwards.

90% of your goals will be achieved by diet, so this is just more important than : "i follow my wife" and "i eat clean"... well - i eat clean too, but if i screw up some of my macros i dont progress at all, so...
