Dips
Hey guys, I'm wondering if dips should be part of chest day or tri day... I have been alternating it but seem to think its becoming counter productive.... Meaning, if I do chest Monday and tri Tuesday and do the dips on chest day my teis are still sore/weak from them getting worked the day before.. Maybe I'm over thinking it... Just wondering what some of you would advise.

I do chest and tris on the same day and use dips to finish my chest and work into my tris.

if you do chest monday you should rest tuesday and do tri wednesday. dips is a chest exercise if you lean forward, google up chest dips and dips to learn the difference.
what is your routine like?

Dips is a compound exercise. Just like bench and pretty much every press. If you're going to chest/bi's and back/tri's. You need to seperate the two a bit more. Since most back exercises hit bi's (even though it's minimal) and pretty much all press (chest/shoulder) exercises hit triceps.

i do chest on sunday(my week starts on sunday and ends on friday) and tri on wednesday. i use dips on both of these days as a finisher...
on chest day i try to stretch deeper - i do a bigger range of motion... on tri day i dont go as deep and put more emphasis on the part of the movement in which i straighten the arms. its more or less the same thing in the end anyway - on chest day i kill my tri and on tri day i kill my chest anyway, because of close grip benchpress and dips, but its just how it works with compound movements.
anyway, dips are oldschool so they work, and you should do them... as Mike Mentzer said - dips are like squats for upper body.
