Beginner Workout Help
Hi Guys,
I have recently decided to join the gym again and get back into the weights with the idea of putting on some size. When i joined i had a PT take me round and make up a workout plan for me and i just wanted to run some of the stuff she mentioned by you guys to see if you think that will be the best way forward.
Stat's
Height: 6ft
Weight: 70kg
Age: 22
So the training plan she gave me is as follows. This is to be carried out 3 x per week.
Warm up: 4x Laps of the Track (Total Fitness)
Routine: Olympic Bar Press 4 x 8 -10reps
Assisted Chins 4 x 8 - 10reps
Deadlift 4 x 8 -10reps
Pushups 4 x Fail
Leg Press 4 x 15reps
Ab Crunches 3 x 10reps
Y Sits 3 x 10reps
Supplements: Gold Standard or USN weight gainer
Multi Vitamins
Omega 3 Caps
Glucotomine Tablets (If not in the protein powder)
Creatine
Can you guys give me a bit of input on the workout and supplements they have given me as im used to doing a split when i worked out 1 year ago and not sure if this is the most beneficial for me.
PS. Im not looking at steroids just looking for some advice from the people that know.
Thanks

Any more input is welcome also.
Does anyone have any advice with regards to the supplements paragraph? As im hoping to get some stuff ordered today.

Hey bro, your training routine is lacking some stuff.. sense you are getting back in the game take it easy at first but you need like two exercises per muscle group and for legs put 3 exercises to start... as you are making progress add one more exercise to each muscle group. In the beginning yea you can do a full uper body work out one day then lower body another.. but then when you start adding some exercises you gonna have to split up your training even more. like chest/tris.. back/bis.. you know do some research man, it will help you a lot.

Welcome and congrats on getting back in the gym! Check out workout routines on this site at the Workout Forum. Your routine needs some help and you can get a lot of help over there. You also need to hit the Nutrition Forum as your diet is lacking as well. Those diet experts over there will be more than happy to get you on track.
Good Luck
Sorry man, i forgot Admin recently combined that forum and this one together. So just stay here and read the Stickies to get some good ideas. But Nutrition Forum is a must too.Last edited by stpete; 08-19-2012 at 04:50 PM.
