    Y Press

I was wondering if anyone else does this or have tried to. If you don't know what it is, it's a shoulder workout that is essentially the same as a dumbbell shoulder press but instead of going straight up you extend your arms outward to form a Y. It sounds stupid but it's a pretty good workout..I usually do them as a finisher to a shoulder day.

Yeah man I read a lot of articles on new types of workouts they come up with. Some of them are bullshit but some of them work pretty good. You won't be able to do the same weight as a regular shoulder press, but I feel it more throughout my delts than a reg should press

They do sound stupid, my workout partner won't do them because he thinks people look at him funny.....he also won't warm up near me because, well, i actually warm up...he would rather just pound weights immediately

These bad boys are in the Arnold Encyclopedia - I've never made them a major part of my routine, but I've done them. A good exercise for isolating front delts.

Try this same "Y" movement with DB flat and incline bench. It'll really hit the pecs hard.

Still pressing above your head or outward from your chest?

Yes. Outward and up rather than straight up. Really keeps the tension on the pecs.
