    Escalating density training (EDT)

Anyone familiar with escalating density training? I found it in one of the stickies and I just had a question. On the sticky it mentions that you do 2 alternating exercises for 20 mins and then another 2 alternating exercises for another 20 mins with 5 mins of rest in between. My gym is always full so I was wondering if its ok to don1 10 min exercise and then do another 1 10 min exercises without alternating? Or if this defeats the purpose of EDT? Thanks for the help.

I'll actually be starting 2 weeks of EDT next week. I've run the routine a couple of times over the past few years and I gotta tell you - it's brutal!

To answer your question - the program was designed to allow 20 blocks, essentially 10 mins per exercise. Doing a total block of 10 mins, thereby allowing only 5 mins (more or less) per exercise will probably not allow for enough total reps per exercise, which is the foundation of EDT.

I would seriously try and find a way to stick to the program as designed... or move on to something else as IMO if you can run the program as designed/efficiently, why bother at all?

    My .02, hope it helps.
