    Recovery period

    Hello,

Does anybody recommend to take a week off training to give your NCS a break?

I do, but not 7 days. And i feel great! The 80lb'rs feel super light. I feels like i can almost curl them on my return..but i cant..lol.

Usually 5 days is plenty - anymore and i go nuts.

I take off the whole month of December every year. I also only work out 2 days a week.

Interesting. Any special reason why you do that? How are you liking it ?

Because I don't like spending 10 hours a week in the gym. I split my routine into two days. Monday and Thursday. Mon is entire upper body and Thurs is entire lower body. I go into the gym, work out hard, and I'm in/out in less than 45 min. I lift heavy, 6-8 reps, and I go from workout to workout with no rest. No rest between sets and no rest between workouts.

My chest/Tri routine kinda looks like this: Incline Dumbbell Press -> Machine Cable Fly -> Decline Dumbbell Press -> Dips -> Push Up's -> Tricep Extensions -> French Press -> Start Over and repeat. I do that 3 times non-stop no rest. The only rest I get is walking from one work spot to the next. This also helps because I don't do any cardio at all because after doing your entire upper body you have no energy left for doing anything but sleeping, lol.

So.. in an out of the gym in 30-45 min and I hit everything harder than most. I still see mass gains and I have a lot of muscle endurance. Been doing it this way for years.

    Cool,

Yeah I hear ya. 7 days would seem like an eternity. I love working out and feel lost without it... but I have been working out pretty intensively since I'm on PCT. Just concern about frying my Central Nervous system. (my muscle recover vey quickly though so not concern about that part)

Every few weeks I feel like my CNS starts getting a bit fried. I dont take time off usually I just do my usual routine but cut the weights I push in half for that week. Picks me right up for the following week
