HIIT or LIS post lifting?
Hey all
I'm starting a cut from tomorrow and due to the hours i work I can only workout once in the morning. So what i will be doing is 60-75 minutes of lifting in the morning followed by some cardio. I'm not sure which would be more beneficial for me, 20 minutes of HIIT or 45 minutes of LIS. Any insight would be great

OP depending on ur weight meanin if u have a lot of fat to lose I would go with HIT....but it all depends on ur bf% less fat I would go wit LISS or LIC....and LISS/LIC imo would be relative to the person....ie fitness level/endurance
I personally cant do low intensity bcuz its just so long and boring but I can do moderate for a length of time....
dont get so stagnant in which one ur doing too....switch it up
hope that was good enough....best of luckLast edited by Zodiac82; 02-18-2013 at 10:47 AM.

I didn't look at those links, but from what i've read you really don't gain much with HIIT over the LISS cardio. Of course there would always be a debate about it. HIIT would likely result in a better VO2 max, but if you aren't worried about that and just want to have a healthy heart and lose some weight then i'd just stay with the LISS myself. Keep in mind that that exercise has recently been shown to be about 10% of the total weight lost. Cardio should always be incorporated into your routine for health though IMO.

I love HIIT cardio, on my non lift days. I don't have enough energy after lifting to do a real HIIT workout, so LISS for me on lifting days.
