    Doing negative/positive during lifts

So I'm starting to slow down on some of my negative movements during my lifts (bench presses, curls ect). But was curious if anyone does or know of any benefits from slowing down the positive movement. For example during bench press, pressing it up very slow and try to contract pecs. Or during sqauts doing the press super slow. I could basically do this for every lift.

Common sense would tell me the more time the muscle is under pressure the better the workout. Yet u really don't see anyone in the gym Doin slow positive movements.

    Any thoughts?

I would think you would exhaust your muscles quicker, and possibly break them down better ( with slow positives). All I know is slow negatives rock.
